Death of the wicked
1) The death of the wicked is in their
sins:
Eze 3:19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his
wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast
delivered thy soul.
Joh 8:21 ¶ Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way,
and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot
come.
2) The death of the wicked is without hope:
Pr 11:7 ¶
When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of
unjust men perisheth.
3) The death of the wicked is sometimes
without fear:
Jer 34:5 But thou shalt die in peace: and with the
burnings of thy fathers, the former kings which were before thee, so shall they
burn odours for thee; and they will lament thee, saying, Ah lord!
for I have pronounced the word, saith the LORD.
2Ch 36:11 ¶ Zedekiah
was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned eleven
years in Jerusalem.
2Ch 36:12 And he did that which was evil in the
sight of the LORD his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the
prophet speaking from the mouth of the LORD.
2Ch 36:13 And he also
rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he
stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the LORD God of
Israel.
4) The death of the wicked is frequently sudden and
unexpected:
Job 21:13 They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go
down to the grave.
Job 21:23 One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at
ease and quiet.
Job 27:21 The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth:
and as a storm hurleth him out of his place.
Pr 29:1 ¶ He, that being often
reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that
without remedy.
5) The death of the wicked is frequently marked by
terror:
Job 18:11 ¶ Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and
shall drive him to his feet.
Job 18:12 His strength shall be hungerbitten,
and destruction shall be ready at his side.
Job 18:13 It shall devour
the strength of his skin: even the firstborn of death shall devour his
strength.
Job 18:14 His confidence shall be rooted out of his tabernacle, and
it shall bring him to the king of terrors.
Job 18:15 It shall dwell in his
tabernacle, because it is none of his: brimstone shall be scattered upon
his habitation.
Job 27:19 The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be
gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he is not.
Job 27:20 Terrors take
hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night.
Job 27:21
The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm hurleth him
out of his place.
Ps 73:19 How are they brought into desolation, as in
a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.
6) Punishment
follows the death of the wicked:
Isa 14:9 Hell from beneath is moved for
thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee,
even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their
thrones all the kings of the nations.
Ac 1:25 That he may take part of this
ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might
go to his own place.
7) The remembrance of them perishes in the death
of the wicked:
Job 18:17 His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and
he shall have no name in the street.
Ps 34:16 The face of the LORD is
against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the
earth.
Pr 10:7 ¶ The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of
the wicked shall rot.
8) God has no pleasure in the death of the
wicked:
Eze 18:23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?
saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and
live?
Eze 18:32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith
the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
9) The
death of the wicked is like the death of beasts:
Ps 49:14 Like sheep they
are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have
dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave
from their dwelling.
10) The death of the wicked
illustrated:

thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou
hast provided?

carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was
buried;

seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
