The Great White Throne Judgement
This is it. The ultimate destiny of all who rejected God's salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Those who refused to accept Him as Saviour in time, now stand before Him as Judge in eternity to receive the sentence. They are already condemned. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." (John 3:16-19)
The principles of God's judgments are laid out in the letter to the Romans
According to Truth But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth (Romans 2:2) According to Deeds Who will render to every man according to his deeds: (Romans 2:6) Without Favouritism For there is no respect of persons with God. (Romans 2:11) According to Knowledge For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; (Romans 2:12) By Jesus Christ In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ (Romans 2:16) "And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death." (Revelation 20:11-14)
"And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Revelation 21:5-8)
Not much comment needed is there? Pretty plain and straightforward stuff. But in case there is any lingering doubt about what puts us in that ultimate destiny, one last Scripture:
"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." (John 3:36)
